WEDNESDAY SHOW RECAP: CODY FAJARDO JOINS!

Wednesday’s Episode #151 of The Rod Pedersen Show had a little bit of everything! Here are the highlights:

  • Rod and Dupes opened with The Rollout for Flooring Superstores and their topics were these: 1) CFL winter meetings, 2) The NFL/CFL tryout window, 3) the CFL moving to 10 national starters in 2020, 4) Chris Jones staying in Cleveland?, 5) the Fake News of Ryan Dinwiddie interviewing with the Browns, 6) the end of the Patriots dynasty?, and 7) the complex situation in Iran/Iraq.
  • The marquee guest of the show was Rider QB Cody Fajardo who joined the show from DC. Cody mentioned that his hero growing up was Brett Favre, said the rehab for his oblique tear is coming along well (he was able to play in a spike ball tourney in Miami over New Years), his enthusiasm for the 2020 season under new O.C. Jason Maas, and his excitement to attend the January 18 NLL game in Saskatoon between the Saskatchewan Rush and Colorado Mammoth.
  • The Voice of the Saskatoon Blades Les Lazaruk was next, joining the show via video chat. He previewed Wednesday night’s Blades/Rebels game, Friday’s WHL Trade Deadline (he reported the asking price for Pats goalie Max Paddock is very steep), and how happy he is for his hometown Winnipeg Blue Bombers to win the 2019 Grey Cup.
  • The topic came up of meeting your heroes and Rod said he was able to meet his idol George Strait but was too shy to introduce himself to Wayne Gretzky at the NHL Draft in Raleigh, NC. Les said his idol was Bobby Hull. The panel weighed in with their stories and viewers joined the discussion as well via the Facebook feed.
  • The topic also came up regarding Canada’s black jerseys at the World Juniors and it spawned a wide discussion about uniforms in general, including the NHL 2020 All Star Game outfits.
  • That led to the daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question of: Do you like Hockey Canada’s black jerseys? The whopping majority on Twitter and Instagram say yes.
  • Wednesday’s show is available for viewing now on our Facebook page or you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the PODCAST tab at the top of this page.
  • See you at 10 am CT Thursday on Facebook Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive!

Canada needs to immediately start wearing the red and white jerseys (vice versa,) reflective of the Nation’s national flag. The current black jerseys totally not recognizable while looking robotic. On a another note_ like Lil Wayne Gretzky meeting one of his heroes (Mr.Tim Horton – RIP) at a donut shop for a autograph I also met my NHL hero at a local coffee-donut shop (Mr.Robins Donuts) for his autograph which I cherish dearly today in a old childhood scrapbook.
