Week 15 CFL Picks For PUMPJACKS!
Well folks, we’re officially entering the “no more fooling around” portion of the Canadian Football League season.
Week 15 is here, the playoff picture is still wiiiiiide open, and Saturday gives us something CFL fans can appreciate: FOUR games. ONE day.
Grab the coffee, settle into the couch and get ready. Here we go.
OTTAWA AT TORONTO (-11.5)
Pick: TORONTO
The Ottawa Redblacks are still looking for their first win, and unfortunately for them, the schedule isn’t getting any kinder.
Toronto manhandled Hamilton in the Labour Day match, Chad Kelly looked sharp, and suddenly the Argos look like a team that nobody wants to see in November.
Could Ottawa pull off the upset? Sure. It’s the CFL. Weird things happen.
But I’m not getting cute with this one.
Argos roll 38-20.
SASKATCHEWAN (-1.5) AT WINNIPEG
Pick: WINNIPEG
Here we go again.
The Riders just beat Winnipeg in the Labour Day Classic, but they needed overtime to do it (32-26). Now the Bombers get them back at home; a place they’ve made inhospitable again. You know Winnipeg is going to come out angry, physical and desperate.
That’s what makes this such a fascinating game.
But here’s the thing: Saskatchewan looks like the more complete football team right now. They’ve proven they can win games without Thor in the backfield, A.J. Ouellette.
Trevor Harris has been steady, the Riders have balance, and their defence has made enough big plays to get them through games like this. And, don’t forget, Sask won the 2025 Banjo Bowl 21-13 so it’s not slamdunk for the home team, like the Labour Day Classic.
Winnipeg will make it interesting. It wouldn’t surprise me if this comes down to the final five minutes.
The Bombers win a thriller, 31-28.
CALGARY AT EDMONTON (-3)
Pick: EDMONTON
The Labour Day rematch nobody in Calgary wanted.
Edmonton just walked into Calgary and came away with the victory. The EE’s 27-point fourth quarter comeback is the kind of soul-sucking defeat that breaks a team.
Now the Elks get the Stamps at home.
Momentum matters in football, and Edmonton has it.
Calgary has enough offensive firepower to turn this into a track meet, but I don’t trust the Stampeders’ defence enough right now to stop the Elks when it matters.
This could be one of those games where you look up at halftime and say, “What the heck is going on?”
I’m taking the home team.
Edmonton wins 35-30.
MONTREAL AT BC (-1.5)
Pick: BC
And now we get to the nightcap. Some are calling it the Game of the Week!
Montreal versus BC has the makings of a terrific football game, and frankly, I wouldn’t want to bet my lunch money on this one.
The Lions have home-field advantage, and that’s ultimately why I’m giving them the nod.
Montreal is absolutely capable of winning this game. Of course! They’re the best team in the CFL. But BC has enough offensive weapons to make the difference late, and they’ve still got confidence from their five-game win streak which was just busted last week in Montreal. They won’t forget.
I’m expecting a close one, and possibly the most entertaining game of the day.
BC wins 32-29.
