SATURDAY CFL MOVES
TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts signed former Denver Broncos linebacker Shane Ray on Saturday.
The Argos also re-signed defensive back Robert Woodson and running back Asnnel Robo.
The 27-year-old Ray was the 23rd overall pick by Denver in the 2015 NFL draft and played 14 games that season, finishing with 20 tackles and four sacks. He had two tackles and a forced fumble in the Broncos’ Super Bowl victory.
The six-foot-three, 245-pound Ray played 35 games over the next three seasons, registering 72 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown. The Kansas City native was signed by Baltimore in 2019 but released two months later.
Woodson played 15 games for the Argos in 2019, making 24 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles and two forced fumbles. The 5-10, 191-pound University of Calgary product was a fourth-round draft pick by Toronto in 2017 and has played 41 career games, racking up 40 defensive tackles and 23 special teams tackles.
The 27-year-old Robo, a native of French Guiana, was the third overall pick by Montreal in the inaugural CFL global draft in 2019. The University of Montreal product rushed for 19 yards and caught one pass for 10 yards in two pre-season games before being released.
Robo went on to play three games for Calgary in 2019.

EDMONTON – CFL defensive back Aaron Grymes has returned to Edmonton.
The EE Football Team re-signed Grymes for a third stint Saturday after he was released from the BC Lions. The Idaho product originally signed with the club in 2013, and played in 33 games from 2013 to ’15, recording 105 tackles, eight interceptions and one sack.
He earned CFL all-star honours in 2015 and was a key member of Edmonton’s Grey Cup champion defence.
Grymes signed with the Philadelphia Eages in the 2016 off-season, but was injured during the pre-season while making an interception and was released during final roster cuts. He spent most of 2016 on the Eagles practice roster, but appeared in one NFL game after being promoted to the active roster.
Grymes returned to Edmonton in late 2017 and played in six games. He spent 2018 as a member of the club.
In his 82 CFL games, Grymes has 253 tackles, 12 interceptions, two fumble recoveries, a sack and two defensive touchdowns.
He played the 2019 season with BC, recording 54 tackles and an interception in 16 games.
