Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats capped off a perfect weekend with a 4-3 win over the visiting Portland Winterhawks Saturday night before 5,403 spectators at the Brandt Centre.

Connor Bedard tallied two goals, including his seventh game-winner of the season, tying Jagger Firkus for the league lead, as he scored on a breakaway to give the Pats a 4-3 lead late in the third period. Braxton Whitehead scored for a second straight game and Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A) recorded his 23rd of the season in the win. Drew Sim stopped 30 of 33 shots directed his way as he collected his third-straight win.

The game was tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, before the teams combined for five markers in the second period with the Pats carrying a 4-3 lead into the final stanza. Both teams were held off the scoresheet in the final frame. The win is the Pats 20th of the season and the Pats third-straight victory.

Robbie Fromm-Delorme, Diego Buttazzoni, and Gabe Klassen replied for the Winterhawks, as they finished their Eastern Division swing 2-4-0. Dante Giannuzi made 34 saves on 38 shots, as he dropped his second straight start.

SASKATOON – Egor Sidorov scored the natural hat trick and his netminder Austin Elliott stopped 30 of 32 shots as the Saskatoon Blades knocked off the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday night.

Trevor Wong also scored for the Blades (27-8-2-1), who led 1-0 after the first period and took a 2-1 lead into the final frame.

Nico Myatovic and Kevin Korchinski scored for the Thunderbirds (30-7-1-1).

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Ryan Hofer scored twice and Logan Stankoven chipped in with three assists as the Kamloops Blazers defeated the visiting Spokane Chiefs 5-2.

Olen Zellweger, Daylan Kuefler and Kyle Masters also scored for the Blazers (25-8-4-2), who outshot the Chiefs 53-24.

Berkly Catton and Ty Cheveldayoff scored for the Chiefs (8-28-1-2).

WINNIPEG, Man. – Connor McClennon scored three goals as the Winnipeg ICE crushed the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers 8-3.

Tomas Mrsic, Bogdans Hodass and Cayden Lindstrom scored for the Tigers (15-21-5-1).
