Friday Commentary: Idle Hands

A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …
#1 – Thursday marked the final night of the NHL regular season and we had to wait till it was over to get the first round playoff match-ups in the West. Those series are gonna be Oilers-Ducks, Golden Knights-Mammoth, Avalanche-Kings and Wild-Stars.
#2 – Hopefully you can remember the Eastern Conference match-ups because we discussed them here the other day. So our first round prediction in terms of winners is: Lightning, Sabres, Flyers and Hurricanes in the East and Knights, Oilers, Avs and Stars in the West.
Let the games begin.
#3 – It was a good news/bad news kinda day in the CFL. The good news is star Canadian quarterback Taylor Elgersma is coming north to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after failing to latch on in the NFL and UFL. There’s no doubt that he seems to be the “next one” – in Winnipeg anyway – and Bomber training camp just got a lot more interesting.
Bad news out of Riderville where popular receiver Ajou Ajou was released by the Green & White after an off-field incident on the day of the team’s Grey Cup parade. He’s also been suspended by the CFL for six games.
Sad, for sure. The Riders were the only team willing to give the troubled star receiver a chance and ultimately, he blew that.
Let the record show that these incidents always happen in the off-season. You can look it up in the NFL too, and it’s highlighted by recent events which even involved a coach there.

Anjou Anjou played junior college at Garden City for renowned Head Coach straight Outta Compton Jason Brown….he has some kind of boundary issues. These guys are in their 20s and whether it is him or Chad Kelly. Darrell Davis will need double protection maxi pads as he is up in arms. This is a warning to those Roughriders.
