MONDAY RUNDOWN: PETERSON & PEDERSEN! PLUS MUAMBA AND FLORY

We talked a whole lotta football plus the latest hot sports stories on Monday’s Episode #742 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – live from Grey Eagle Resort & Casino! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose got things rolling with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Sunday NHL leftovers including the Lafleur tribute and Ryan Getzlaf’s last home game, 2) Connor Bedard nets a hattie in Canada’s 8-3 win over Germany at the World U18s, 3) The Raptors face elimination in Game 5 at Philadelphia, 4) The Blue Jays fall 8-7 in Houston but lead the AL East at 10-6, 5) Formula 1 and Nascar results, and 6) Cody Fajardo says all the pressure can go on him.
  • U of S Huskies football coach Scott Flory joined the show to preview the 2022 Huskie Dogs Breakfast on May 5 honouring the 2007 Roughriders, spring football, and the landscape for the CFL and Canada West in 2022.
  • In Hour 2 we were joined by Toronto Argonauts linebacker Henoc Muamba who – as a huge basketball fan – gave his analysis on the Raptors series, explained why the Argos will be in the Grey Cup this year, and revealed what it was like playing for Defensive Coordinator Chris Jones in 2022. The CFL great also said it’ll be tremendous to get back to a “regular” CFL season after what the league’s been through the past couple years.
  • Former Stampeders All Star safety and longtime radio analyst Greg Peterson joined the crew at Grey Eagle for a fun and lengthy chat. “Pete” is entering his 25th season on Stampeders radio and covered all CFL topics including four downs (he doesn’t favour that change but feels other rules can be updated), the ratio, and predicted Calgary will face Toronto in the 2022 Grey Cup. Greg also answered several viewer questions and said he misses Rod in the CFL!
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: What will you be watching Monday night – Blue Jays/Red Sox, Raptors Game 5 or Other? At press time, the Blue Jays were leading by a considerable margin.
