THUNDER ARE PFC CHAMPIONS!

Trystan Dyce kisses the Cup

SASKATOON — A team from Saskatchewan has once again taken the PFC Final, but this time, it’s the southern Saskatchewan team, the Regina Thunder. The Thunder built up a 21-2 lead over the Saskatoon Hilltops in Sunday’s PFC Final at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon, and held on for 21-16 triumph.

It’s the first league championship for the Thunder in their 14-year history.

Regina Thunder DB Tanner Hope set an individual PFC and CJFL record with five knockdowns in a conference championship game.

His teammate, quarterback Asher Hastings, set the PFC record and is tied for 2nd all-time in the CJFL with 25 completions in a conference championship game.

Of course their accomplishments contribute to the team records in a conference championship, with the Thunder recording six knockdowns (3rd in the PFC) and 25 completions (1st in the PFC and tied for 2nd in the CJFL).

The Thunder will host the Jostens Cup winners and BCFC Champions, the Vancouver Island Raiders, in the Canadian Bowl CJFL National Championship on Nov. 9.

To think, 16 years ago, Royce Gaebel was laughed at for thinking he could start a junior team and that it could survive in Regina with the Rams around.

Congrats to the Thunder organization

Sincere "congratulations" out to the REGINA THUNDER on their PFC Championship win.

Can the Roughriders borrow Asher Hastings and Tanner Hope ? Ahh, come to think of it, send the whole THUNDER team over for Immediate tryouts. The Riders surely can use a few tips on how to succeed at winning a championship.

Congratulations Regina THUNDER !!!!

This is just the first of many. The Hilltops are overrated and the Thunder didn't just beat them once, they did it twice. Watch this team become perennial champs like the Rams used to be. It's been coming and now its here The only team lucky yesterday were the Hilltops. A couple of meaningless late TD's made the score closer than the game ever was.

Full marks and Kudos to the Thunder. They have started what will become a dynasty like the old days.

The debate is over. Cornish is better.

Now it's time for Sheets and Anderson to put their big boy pants on, shut the hell up, and win football games. Anderson was yapping after every play while doing very little.

George Cortez needs to pull his head out of his ass and run an offense after his 6 week holiday.

Let's rest up and prepare for BC.

Wow, Regina finally has a champ, Rams are brutal, Riders are going nowhere.
It's funny how the Regina fans haven't commented on the great job that the Saskatoon refs did on Sunday.
