Tuesday’s show was Episode #65 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights:

  • Rod and Dupes were in the bunker for The Warmup. They recapped the entertaining Labour Day Classic games in the CFL, and also the All Star/Celebrity Football Game Saturday night at Leibel Field. They marvelled at how Rider great Rob Bresciani was the game MVP, despite being the second-oldest player on the field! (Hall of Famer Dan Rashovich was the oldest)
  • Riders/Stamps/Ticats alum Marshall Hamilton joined the bunker for his regular Tuesday spot, delving even further into the LDC games. Marshall felt the gutsy game-winning drive by Cody Fajardo was remarkable, and felt there’s no room for the argument “The Riders should’ve won by more” despite the fact the Bombers were missing Matt Nichols and Andrew Harris. He was, however, dismayed that the Argos couldn’t pull off the win at Hamilton, given the fact they were leading for much of the game.
  • All kinds of CFL topics were debated including the firing of OL coach Bryan Chiu in BC, the return of Bo Levi Mitchell to the Stampeders, and much more.
  • Calgary Flames broadcaster Peter Loubardias joined the show from his off-season home in Mississauga to talk about the Rider win, the Oilers/Flames Battle of Alberta, and he blasted Canadian NBA stars for not participating in international events.
  • Former Eagles, Colts, Riders & Ticats defensive back Nick Graham joined the show via video chat from his office in Lake Charles, LA where he’s an assistant coach with NCAA’s McNeese St. He talked about the turbulent times the Riders went through in his years with the club (2010-2012) and also offered some NFL thoughts with the 2019 season kicking off Thursday night with Green Bay at Chicago.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who is the Best in the CFL West following Labour Day Weekend? The resounding leader was the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
  • In honour of show #65, the panel debated sports figures who’ve worn #65 in their career. The group includes Ben Heenan, Erik Karlsson, Dan Federkeil, Neil Quilter, James Paxton and Ryan McLean.
  • The team also announced the 2nd Rod Pedersen Show Watch Party will be at Baller’s Rec Room this Sunday at 2:00 pm for Week 1 NFL games.
