FAJARDO “100% HEALTHY”

Cody Fajardo will be ready when training camp opens in May.

The star Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback was honoured by the NLL’s Saskatchewan Rush at Saturday night’s Prairie Pride Night at SaskTel Centre.

Prior to the game Fajardo met with a throng of reporters in the GW Lounge to update his status.

“One hundred per cent healthy,” the 6’2″, 215 lb pivot asserted. “This is the first weekend I’ve been cleared to do physical activity.”

“So I’ve been a couch potato the last two months, driving myself crazy — but now I’m able to throw a ball.”

And throw the ball he did. Fajardo was featured in a halftime promotion where he tossed footballs to lucky fans in a mock game. Prior to the player introductions before the game, Fajardo was introduced amid a pyrotechnics production and raucous ovation from the Rush Nation.

The 27-year old Brea, CA product missed the Riders’ final regular season game with two torn oblique muscles but looked strong in the club’s western final loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers two weeks later.

Fajardo told The Rod Pedersen Show 10 days ago that he was able to play in a spike ball tournament in Miami, FL over the Holiday season.

The 2019 CFL West Division Most Outstanding Player is clearly looking ahead to the 2020 season with his health not being a concern.

“I know we got a lot of unfinished business,” Fajardo told reporters in Saskatoon.

The Rush lost the game 12-6 to the visiting Colorado Mammoth before 12,542 fans.
